Amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval visited the Jewish nation and met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday.
Mr Netanyahu updated Mr Doval on the recent developments in the fighting in the Gaza Strip. The two sides also discussed the efforts to ensure the release of Israeli hostages and the issue of humanitarian assistance to the people affected by the war.
Mr. Doval also met his Israeli counterpart Tzakhi Hanegbi, who was also present during his meeting with Mr Netanyahu.
Mr Netanyahu, who has a close rapport with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been updating the Indian leadership on the war ever since it began in October 2023.
India has repeatedly called for cessation of hostilities in the region while favouring a two-state solution to the crisis in West Asia.
PM Modi has been in constant touch with important leaders in the region, including those of the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, and is actively involved in discussions to promote peace and stability in West Asia.
India has supported efforts to provide necessary humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian population in Gaza by sending consignments of essential items.
